Mid-Atlantic Division Awarded NIH Contract
Southland Industries’ Mid-Atlantic Division was recently awarded the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Building 10 Clinical Research Center and Positron Emission Tomography P.E.T. Radiochemistry Lab project in Bethesda, Maryland. The project will be managed by Gilbane Inc. and Southland Industries will be responsible for renovating 20,000 s.f. of NIH Building 10 mechanical systems.
Specifically, Southland’s scope of work includes the partial renovation of Level B3 to include a cGMP Facility, the partial renovation of Level B2 to include P.E.T. Radiochemistry Lab space, the addition of a new penthouse on Level 03 as well as the associated HVAC, plumbing and process piping system upgrades required to support the mission. This complex project is expected to be completed by November, 2011 and will require Southland’s expertise of cohesive, well coordinated teamwork to ensure zero impact to the adjacent spaces and facilities.
