Southland Industries Establishes New Southern California Campus

LEED Gold Designated Facility Combines National and Local Talent

Irvine, CA (February 3rd, 2012)  —  Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest mechanical contractors, will combine its talent and administrative assets from its corporate headquarters in Irvine with the expertise of its Southern California Division into a newly-remodeled facility located in Garden Grove, Calif.

"This relocation brings our highly skilled staff together in a uniquely innovative office environment," said Dr. Ted Lynch, chief executive officer. "Our new Southern California Campus allows us not only to better serve customers regardless of geographic location but also to showcase the best of Southland's engineering and construction capabilities," concluded Lynch.

Southland Industries' Southern California Campus is designed to facilitate collaboration, productivity and innovation, and illustrates Southland Industries' commitment to designing and constructing buildings that perform at peak efficiency and deliver the highest value. "The new Garden Grove building will represent an example of sustainable architecture and engineering fitting with tomorrow's standard for innovation," said Patrick McClintock of LPA Architects, the architecture partner for the project.

Southland's recently purchased 36,000 square foot building was entirely remodeled to achieve LEED Gold certification and features several mechanical enhancements including displacement ventilation, chilled beams and fan powered induction units, as well as an energy efficient central plant. The new building is adjacent to Southland's existing 92,000 square foot Southern California Division office. The existing facility will continue to house their fabrication shops as well as newly remodeled space for corporate training, immersive BIM coordination, and "big room" teaming.

The company will vacate its Corporate Office in Irvine on Feb. 10, 2012 and occupy the new space on Feb. 13, 2012.
